31 DIY projects in 31 days – Day Sixteen

Day Sixteen – Braided Hex Nut Bracelet. You have to love turning hardware supplies into jewelry. Really pretty jewelry.

Pictured above, listed by blog, 1. Honestly…, 2. Fashion Nicotine, 3. What She Has Found, 4. Everyday Mom Ideas, 5. Honestly…

Thank you to Honestly… for the fabulous tutorial.

The materials: 18 small brass hex nuts and twine, yarn, leather, cord, or thread of your choice. I used embroidery thread, but I’d like to pick up some twine or leather cord and make another bracelet. I love the way the bracelet looks with leather.

The steps to this bracelet are simple.

Step One: Cut 3 strands of your string (of choice) 1 yard long each.

Step Two: Tie the end of your strands together and braid them together about an inch to an inch and a half.

Step Three: Braid your hex nuts in alternately one after the other through the outside strands.

Step Four: Braid to desired length and tie off.
