31 DIY projects in 31 days – Day Twenty-Five
Day Twenty-Five – Necktie Cuff Bracelet. There are so many fun things you can do to refashion a necktie. This project is easy as they come and it literally takes minutes to make.
Necktie Project Inspirations:
1. Necktie Necklaces {Pinterest} 2. Headband {Pinterest} 3. Eye Mask {Etsy}
4. Wreath {The Felt Board} 5. Necktie Cuff Bracelet {Linda Eve’s Blog} 6. The Men’s Room {Maize Hutton}
7. Necktie Cuff {Pinterest} 8. Necktie Purse {Etsy} 9. Necktie Collar {Pinterest}
Materials: Necktie, button, scissors, needle and thread.
I have a stash of ties {thanks to my Dad} waiting to be repurposed. This cuff bracelet is tons of fun. You can see the tutorial I read here. I made mine a little differently so I will share the super easy steps to making your own Necktie Cuff Bracelet.
Step one: Wrap the necktie around your wrist to measure length and cut. I cut mine about an inch past where my button was going to go.
Step two: Turn over and wrap around your wrist so that the inside is facing out. Position your button where you want to see it on the cuff and trace a circle around it.
Step three. Cut a button hole in your tie for your button. I decided to cut a button hole instead of using snaps. {I also skipped using a piece of plastic to make it more sturdy as suggested in the tutorial, but it doesn’t really seem to need it}
Step four: Sew on your button.
Step five: Wear.
{I might go back and hem the inside edge later, but since you can’t see it and I’ll be wearing it not giving it away I figured I could skip hemming it}
The finished project:
What will you make with a necktie?
