I saw on TV once that you can make ANY COLOR of matte paint into chalkboard paint by simply adding some fine dry grout powder to the paint (not just black or green chalkboards anymore!). I do not remember if they gave any specific amount of grout per can of paint but with some experimentation it should work (I think they just dumped a small bag of grout into a gallon of paint and mixed it in well).. It worked great on the TV show. I am loving aqua lately and I think I am going to try an aqua chalkboard in my kitchen.
I like this one. How do you condition it?
I didn’t prime and I really should have. The doors were slightly glossy and primer would have been a good idea.

Oooh Aqua is so pretty. I’ve seen tutorials around pinterest. It would be fun to try a color!
